This weekends fight night forecast👊- UFC Las Vegas, PFL Dublin

GM fight enthusiasts and welcome to this weekends fight forecast! This weekend promises an exciting lineup in the MMA world, featuring events such as UFC Las Vegas, PFL Dublin, and more. The octagon action is set to deliver thrilling moments and unforgettable matchups. So, without any further ado, let's dive right in 👊

UFC LAS VEGAS
🇨🇳Song Yadong vs Chris Gutierrez🇺🇸

This weekends main event at UFC Las Vegas is a bantamweight clash between the “Kung-Fu Kid” Song Yadong (20-7) and fellow bantamweight contender Chris Gutierrez (20-5). Now, Song Yadong sits at No.7 in the rankings. Wins over big names? Check. Ricky Simon, Marlon Vera, Marlon Moraes - he's collected them like trading cards. But, hey, everyone has a hiccup, and for Song, it was Cory "The Sandman" Sandhagen. Imagine facing a guy who can probably dodge a fly in slow-mo. Tough break!

On the other side of the cage, we have Chris Gutierrez. 2023 hasn't been his year. Retiring Frankie Edgar was the peak, but then came Pedro Munhoz, and, well, you know how those rollercoasters go 🎢

Both these guys are like two 5'8" action figures with an identical 67" reach. It's like staring at a mirror, but one mirror throws punches better. That's Song. His boxing is so sharp; it probably writes thank-you notes.

Now, Gutierrez likes to play the distance game. It's like he's in a long-distance relationship with his opponents. Song needs to get cozy inside that space to unleash his boxing wizardry. Not the safest move, but who said fighting was about safety? 🦺

Ground action, you say? Gutierrez might not be the wrestler, but he's got these grappling skills that make you reconsider your life choices. Song might need a GPS down there.

Predicting this one is like predicting the weather in the upside-down. Gutierrez is a bit like Marlon Vera, and many thought Song lost that one. But, hey, over five rounds, Song's got more experience, and he's headlined shows. Gutierrez, on the other hand, hasn't tasted that spotlight. It's like giving a cat a bath - you don't know what'll happen.

But the Cage Chronicle’s crystal ball predicts a Song Yadong win, and it thinks it will be by 4th round KO 🔮

UFC LAS VEGAS
🇺🇸Anthony Smith vs Khalil Rountree 🇺🇸

The co-main event in Las Vegas is a light heavyweight bout between former title contender Anthony Smith (37-18) going up against “The War Horse” Khalil Rountree (13-5). Let's break it down. Both Smith and Rountree are no strangers to danger – limited fighters, yes, but fiercely aggressive. This weekend, they're vying for a key win that could shake up the rankings.

Rountree's been on a hot streak, clinching victory in his last four bouts, three by KO. Notably, his split decision win over Dustin Jacoby showcased a different side – poise, patience, and toughness. Impressive, right? 🤷‍♂️

Smith, a veteran past his prime, is still a force to be reckoned with. A finisher both standing and on the ground, 'Lionheart' boasts incredible durability, even if Glover Teixeira and Magomed Ankalaev proved otherwise.

The game plan? Rountree likely aims for an early blitz, hoping to catch Smith off guard. 'Lionheart,' however, can't afford a striking showdown. If he can get inside 'The War Horse,' wear him out in the clinch, and drag him down, it's Smith's game 🤼

The challenge? Closing the distance. Rountree's improved movement adds a layer of frustration for Smith, once a berserker but now a more nuanced fighter.

In his prime, Smith would be the easy pick. Picture him weathering an early storm before taking Rountree down for the finish. However, 'Lionheart' isn't as durable as before, and closing in on Rountree might prove tricky.

The Crystal Ball’s pick you ask? It has predicted a 1st round finish for Khalil Roundtree 🔮

PFL DUBLIN
🇮🇪Nathan Kelly vs Dimitry Solimeis 🇫🇷

In the Main event of this PFL Dublin card we have a featherweight bout, This one is between Irish wonder boy Nathan Kelly (8-2) and French debutant Dimitry Solimeis (6-3). Solimeis, fresh off a victory against Damion Nelson in August, turned pro in 2017. Despite a hiccup in October, where his four-fight win streak met its match, he's ready for redemption.

On the flip side, Nathan Kelly is on a scorching 8-fight win streak, showcasing his ground game prowess as one of Ireland's Young BJJ black belts. A fighter who bounced back strong after losing his first two pro fights, Kelly is a force to be reckoned with.

Solimeis might hold the edge on the feet, boasting a French kickboxing/MMA style. However, Kelly's ground game could be the X-factor. If Solimeis wants to throw down, he needs to keep the action standing because once on the mat, Kelly is in his element 🧘

Betting odds might not favor Solimeis, but he's geared up for his big promotion debut, eyeing a knockout. The Crystal Ball, however, sees a different narrative – predicting a second-round victory for Nathan Kelly by submission. 🔮

PFL DUBLIN
🇮🇪Frans Mlambo vs Khurshed Kakhorov🇩🇪

In the co-main event of this PFL Dublin card we have the bantamweight tournament final between hometown boy Frans Mlambo (15-5) going up agains German powerhouse Khurshed Kakhorov (11-1). Mlambo, on a blistering 7-win streak, is no stranger to success. The prospect of losing that streak with a hefty prize at stake only fuels his determination. Meanwhile, Khakorov, fresh off a decisive win against the tournament favorite Ali Taleb, is riding high on momentum.

When it comes to striking, Mlambo holds the edge with his lanky frame, unleashing a barrage of jabs and kicks. However, Khakorov's power-packed overhands present a genuine threat 👊

On the ground, Khakorov's wrestling prowess is a game-changer. His track record of dominating opponents with well-executed takedowns is unmatched. While his defensive wrestling has vulnerabilities, Mlambo needs a strategic approach to exploit them.

Anticipate a seesaw battle, with Mlambo using his reach to keep Khakorov at bay. To secure victory, Mlambo must capitalize on early KO opportunities, steering clear of prolonged ground exchanges. Khakorov, however, plans to mix precision striking with seamless takedowns 🤼

The Crystal Ball’s prediction you ask? We see Khurshed Khakorov winning this one by decision and taking home the 100k 🔮
